Disagree: Stupidity Killed the President, not T.V.

When I read the title I think… “Video Killed the Radio Star.”

The problem is that T.V. did not kill the president. If you think about it, most of the world gained access to television at the same time, and their leaders rarely look like idiots or are considered bed mates. This has to do with the American culture. It is apart of our culture to aspire and long after televised peoples. This is the essence of the American Dream: move out west, get rich, and get famous. This has also lead to the phenomenon of reality T.V. The every day Joe Schmo can be loved my all of America (or hated). Hey, any publicity is good publicity; at least people know your name now.

I think what killed the American President is good old fashion stupidity. I think it goes way back to the old adage, if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and waddles like a duck, then it must be a duck. It is hard to hide your true colors when the whole world is watching. The only reason why our older presidents look astute is the fact that they could hide behind the title. Everyone has made stupid choices and even more stupid actions, with television the stupidity is amplified.

It also goes under the Darwinian idea of natural selection combined with the message from “Idicocracy.” There was a time where man needed to be smart to survive. In turn, her children were able to learn from and mimic intelligent behavior. Once man conquered most of the known world, circumstances changed. Now, the intelligent humans are waiting till they are older, wiser, and more stable to raise well brought up children. This means that there are fewer children raised in an environment well suited for developing brainiac children. It is also perpetuated by the abstinence only programs being forced down our ever growing poor youth. They are being told lies about contraception and birth control, so they abstain….abstain from using contraception that is. I am not saying that poor people are not smart. I am very poor, and very smart. I am saying that there is little chance of continuing education for those in low income situations, especially if child-rearing is involved. This leads to a less educated population.

So what I am saying, Dear Norm, it is not from a song of the 80’s. Stupidity and idiocracy killed the American President. Look at our current president for more proof.

Wow , I do believe that the old adage is "you can lead a horse to water but that doesn't mean you can saddle a duck". This fits well for Dubya sense he believes he is the saddle again.
